The power of suggestion can really upset us when it comes to fear and terror. The nervous system determines reality, controls body functions and is based on chemical compounds, and language also determines reality. According to some psychologists, exposure to violent and negative news can have severe and lasting psychological effects beyond simple pessimistic feelings.

This photobook questions how terror works as a distraction from the void. Religions have used this human need by preaching imminent punishment and people react instinctively to that message. It also uses nature’s reference to insect parasites, how they live off their hosts, feeding on them by using chemicals regulating their physical and mental functions.
